As the week begins, perhaps it would be a good time to review what will return as Trump's unconstitutional tariffs loom to return - following his arbitrary "90-day" pause. He got very few concessions, save for a recent agreement with Vietnam and an "uptick, then return to most of the previous quotas and tariff levels" the US had with England. Meanwhile, Trump's tariffs already represent the largest tax increase of any President in 70 years and, according to the Tax Foundation, they will cost each US household $1,183 in 2025 and $1,442 in 2026, aggregating to approximately $155 billion in 2025 alone.
Trump's Tariffs Explained as the 90-Day Pause Set to End Next Week - MSN

On the tax issue, the economically self-strangled UK has taken a different path from Trump on a new set of UN tax increases. Trump did not sign on, but Starmer is all in. The UN plan appears to push nations to tax corporations, then hand that money to the UN, which would redistribute it to "poorer" nations.

Donald Trump pulled the US out of talks on the pact last month, with the White House warning that the proposed text “crosses many of our red lines”. The US president had objected to tax ...

As we approach July 18th, it might be worthwhile to remind people that in the earlier House "Recissions Package" of "cuts", the decision to cut large portions of NPR and PBS funding was left up to the members of the Senate, which must decide by that date. Here's a reference, to keep things on the "reminder" burner!

The only way they can help alleviate the problem of "divisive political narratives" at the Smithsonian is by getting govt funding and ties out of it. Virtually every aspect of the public funding mechanism here can introduce dissention, from the sexual content, to the religious depictions, to the very hours of operation. Only private institutions can facilitate the differing tastes people have, and the very idea that anyone should be forced to pay for a museum — or anything — is offensive, at the outset.
President Donald Trump’s administration is once again reportedly taking aim at the Smithsonian Institution for promoting biased narratives, this time at the National Museum of American History’s Entertainment Nation exhibition. In an email to Fox News, White House official Lindsey Halligan reportedly criticized the taxpayer-funded museum complex for some of the content in the exhibition ...

Functionally, the SCOTUS majority is correct, here. A lower court cannot continue to order a stay of Executive Branch action when the stay has been appealed to the higher court and found out of line. However, Kagan (who joined the majority), neglects (as do they all) to be truthful about the fact that the US Constitution leaves immigration matters to the states. This clear reality, this obvious truism, appears to be untouchable for the SCOTUS, which continues to operate based on the disastrous result of "Chy Lung v Freeman" in 1875. Here is Turley on the recent SCOTUS decision.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court issued a relatively rare clarification of its earlier opinion, which lifted the injunction on the deportation of immigrants to third-party countries. In a surprising response, Judge Brian Murphy in Boston ruled that he considered his orders regarding the eight immigrants set for deportation to South Sudan to remain unchanged by the…

And it brings to mind, again, how existentially explosive all collectivized systems (in this case, the 1875 centralization of immigration) become.

Here, one sees Mr. Trump perpetuating the myth that the US government has any constitutional "power" to own or operate parkland, nature preserves, or anything else beyond the three types of land allowed by the Constitution: a ten-square-mile zone for a national capitol, military garrisons, and territories. This move is not unexpected, because no President from any major party will abide by the Constitution and sell off these lands, but it is disappointing, none the less.

As one would expect, the budget for the National Park Service INCREASES under Trump's elephantine monstrosity. I haven't been able to find precise numbers, but two sources note an increase of appx $750 million (I averaged the two numbers) over FY 2024’s $4.5–$5.5 billion.

Joy Reid could make much better points about the "denaturalization" idea Trump has floated. Obama and Trump both used this process (denaturalization would not equate to deportation in a US that abided by the Constitution, it would just strip people of citizenship) to strip citizenship from former foreigners whom they deemed to have lied on their original citizenship documents and whom they claimed were tied to violent crime or "terrorism".
Television host Joy Reid advised President Donald Trump on the dangerous precedent he could set if he makes good on threats to deport U.S. citizens.

This is stunning. Glenn Greenwald says it well. RE UK banning Palestine Action and labeling the group a "terrorist group" akin to ISIS. LINK!
THIRTEEN!
Former UK ambassador, journalist Craig Murray has uncovered some key information about the British planes that Palestine Action spray-painted — the action that the UK government used as a pretext to ban the group and threaten prosecution of anyone expressing support of them. The planes, allege Palestine Action, were used to assist Israeli military aggression. And Murray discovered that the planes don’t actually belong to the UK government (which would mean that the legal jeopardy of the people who painted them should decrease, commensurately), they are owned by a company called Air Tankers, Ltd, which, itself, if owned by seven cut-outs that are all under an American hedge fund called Polygon, which happens to have joint interests with the Trump business side and with… Blackrock. Check out his piece. LINK! I hope to get Craig back on Liberty Conspiracy soon.

FIRST! For those who missed it, I want to link to you our detailed analysis of the Declaration of Independence, what the American rebels did a year prior to the Declaration that acted as an “olive branch” to King George, and why a strict reading of Jefferson’s language in the Declaration shows us that he, like John Locke, actually undercuts his own argument for real individual, natural rights.
