First up!
Hawaii on May 27 became the first state to impose a "climate/carbon footprint" fee on tourists. Ranging from the unproven state of the "anthropogenic climate change" claim to the specific problem of trying to calculate the cost of any such "cost", now, they are imposing a "fee" on visitors. Surely, this is not about money. Not at all... LINK!

As I mentioned on Substack Friday: "Trump’s tax-paid legal team immediately appealed the “International Trade Court” panel’s decision that had deemed unlawful/unsubstantiated his claim of an “emergency” for his imposition of what clearly are unconstitutional tariffs, and now, in a Circuit Appeals Court, Trump has won a temporary “OK” to proceed with the massive tax increase. This comes from a “trade court” that is not a real judicial branch court, and sees the case put into what IS a judicial court, but the new court is giving leeway to Trump to do something that CLEARLY is not an Executive Branch so-called “power.”
Beyond the economic disaster of Trump’s tariffs, the arrogation of so many rules that are very clearly laid out in the Constitution is shocking, and this Federal Circuit Court of Appeals decision to let the activity continue (the plaintiffs, AGs from 20 states, likely will appeal to the Supreme Court) until the battle is brought before the SCOTUS is an act of utter negligence.
By the way, Trump’s top “economic advisor,” Pete Navarro (who claimed he was advised by a great economist “Ron Vara”, a fictitious person whose name is an anagram of “NAVARRO”) says the tariffs are a great success and are seeing lots of investment coming into the US. This is not the full picture, since this is “investment” that need not be made; it is expense to avoid punishment by the US government, and, of course, the tariffs have slammed consumers – consumers who are both the end-sale buyers and consumers who are manufacturers and now are seeing massive increases in the costs of their factors of production.
That first hyperlink, above, is an overview of the towering costs on US consumers/industry, accrued in just a couple months.
And, by the way, this next plot-point isn't something about which Trump should be bragging: a YUGE decline in imports. Those simply are trades, trades in which people would have engaged, except he either raised their costs, or his threats to do so spurred the potential traders to NOT engage in trade. That's not a good thing. This limits all kinds of supplies. He is repeating the error he made in the fraudulent "Panda-demic" when his actions, and Bidens, shut down supply lines and stifled supplies. This is going to push up prices, big time. LINK!

State Department eyes new "Office of Remigration" in restructuring
The State Department plans to create an "Office of Remigration" in a sweeping reorganization drive tied to the Trump administration's efforts to deport millions of immigrants, a department official told Axios Thursday.. The big picture: The proposed new office would signal the State Department's shift from helping refugees to removing immigrants, even as it employs the term "remigration" — a ...

Miller's unctuous display has to be one of the most egregious examples of not only an utter dismissal for the US Constitution and due process, but the "I'll actually agree that I want rubber stamps on Executive action and claim it's because Trump was 'elected by the American people' i.e. 'it's democracy'" canard I've ever seen. If Biden's people were engaging in avoiding due process and claimed they could because Joe was "the elected President", conservatives would be irate. Miller gets more Kafkaesque every time he appears on television. On my Friday stream, I got to discuss this and play audio of his chat, and maneuvering through his utter blather was almost angering. He's a tragic, obnoxious, figure.
‘That’s Not Democracy’: Stephen Miller Shreds CNN Host Over Executive Authority
White House Deputy Chief of Staff and National Security Advisor Stephen Miller obliterated CNN host Pamela Brown during an interview discussing immigration policy, a recent Supreme Court decision, and executive authority.. I got to discuss this on my show Friday, as well:
"A church-based camp in Colorado must accommodate boys in the girls’ bathroom, and so the folks running the camp are going to have to spend a lot of money fighting the mandate in court. Not only is this a religious liberty issue, it again exposes the folly of the 1946 “Marsh v Alabama” SCOTUS decision that turned private property into de jure “public” property, despite no tax money being spent on it to allow such a definition.
Anyone who believes that a private place that is open to visitors becomes “public” as defined by government is a person who destroys the principle of private property and individual self-ownership. By embracing such a concept, one opens the door to the state defining what is “public”, defining the parameters for freedom of association (as well as the state destroying the right to NOT associate) and dictating what will happen in any business or private place. Here is the story."
This brings to mind a certain Colorado-based cake shop and the hassles the state gave them...

I also got to talk about this on my Friday show (twas a full show, that's certain)!
This NBC piece stresses FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, as being essential to “America” – however that is defined. What they don’t mention is that FEMA not only is unconstitutional, it stands completely contrary to even the Lockean philosophy of statism on which the Founders based the US Constitution. Locke’s Second Treatise on Government (1670) argued that “men form a government” to stop pr punish person-on-person predation. This means that government is not supposed to be “protecting” people from “naturally occurring phenomena”. If the state is supposed to “help” people who have been harmed by natural disasters, how is a “disaster” defined? How much flooding is enough? How much wind destruction? Fire? Snow?
Digging deeper, there is the fallacy within Locke’s so-called “limited government” view, which is his idea that people come out of a tumultuous and violent “state of nature” to form the state because they peacefully cannot handle their affairs outside the state. But if they cannot handle their affairs voluntarily, how can they voluntarily come together for form his magical “state”? And how is it possible that the state exists to prevent aggression by people against people, when the state only can exist by using aggression to force people to pay for the operations of the state? Any view of statism as something other than a protection racket is impossible. Here’s the FEMA story!
SEVEN!
Let's look at the SCOTUS ruling re CHNV "parole" status. I got to cover for MRCTV the early reports on the Biden Admin misuse of this, which was uncovered by the Center for Immigration Studies. I have a lot of disagreements with CIS on their assumption that there's any federal "role" on immigration (their assumption that there IS one actually led to Biden, as the federal authority executing the statutes at the time, doing something they found incredibly objectionable - subsidizing massive numbers of people to move here), but they brought good attention to the "parole" program. Now, we have a SCOTUS flip, allowing Trump to revoke a half-million "parolee" statuses, opening the door to them being deported BEFORE their cases can be adjudicated. Again, this is a complete flip of due process. The injunction against Trump moving on this was put in place while the actual CASES wind through the courts. How can the SCOTUS then say, "No problem, go ahead and act, possibly deporting people who came here under the fair assumption that Biden had said it was legal for them to do so, and THEN, after who knows how many have been deported, we actually will rule on whether they could be deported and their parole status revoked." Are the SCOTUS justices going to demand that Trump bring all those people BACK so they can finally see their cases adjudicated? The point is that the process for DUE process is supposed to be respected, thus avoiding such a scenario. Here is one link involved with the story.
Supreme court allows White House to revoke temporary protected status of many migrants
The US supreme court on Friday announced it would allow the Trump administration to revoke the temporary legal status of hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan, Cuban, Haitian and Nicaraguan migrants living in the United States, bolstering the Republican president’s drive to step up deportations. The court put on hold Boston-based US district judge Indira Talwani’s order halting the administration’s move to end the immigration humanitarian “parole”...

Yep. The CNHV program. It was for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans.
The basis of the program, if one wants to skip the unconstitutional nature of any federal connection to immigration, goes back to 1966 and the Cuban Adjustment Act, which allowed Cuban nationals to come into the United States and they could be put under what was called a Cuban parole program. It was sort of a halfway measure between asylum and not asylum. Essentially what it was, because there were so many people coming over, they just couldn't give them broad asylum, but a "re-upping" parole program, whereby they could stay, not under asylum, but under a periodic "check" system. So there you go. That's go back to 1966, and the Cuban Adjustment Act. And yeah, Trump ended the whole ball of wax in March with an executive order, which was his prerogative, to no longer enforce it, but to retroactively tell those people that they have to leave without any form of procedure that was promised when they came here? Woah.

Here's a big one from Nebraska, which likely will inspire a good many people to applaud, but I hope they can see that it is the collectivization of these systems that causes the problem of so many people arguing about how it will be run. The predicate is immoral, and that predicate is the assumption that the state can take money from people. That means, of course, that not all the people being robbed can have their views represented or leveraged. LINK!
The Nebraska Senate passed the bill with a final vote of 33-16. “Some may argue this bill excludes certain efforts,” Republican state Sen. Loren Lippencott said while speaking in favor of the measure. “But LB 89 is not about shutting doors; it’s about opening the right ones.”

Hegseth's claim about "not preaching" is bogus. The preaching not only is manifested through the US approach to Russia, China, Iran, and Yemen, it comes delivered, in many cases, in crates of US weapons. His claim that he "respects you," is laughable. He not only doesn't "respect" other nation-states sufficiently to leave them alone, he pumped his emoji fist when civilians were killed by his "leaving alone" drone strikes in Yemen. And the extent of his disrespect goes to our pockets, as we have been forced to pay for what he wants to frigging preach.
His idea of "leaving other nations alone" is the exact opposite, and does not conform to any US policy I've seen from this or the previous administration. LINK

Yeah. This isn't good. Isn't Palantir making enough money off "Lavender AI" being used by the IDF to target people in Palestine? That would be the AI that has an over 20% failure rate, even if one thinks the Hamas folks the IDF supposedly targets are guilty without any trial, and even if one forgets that the Israeli and US governments funded Hamas to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. But, we have to remember, now GOP-ers can claim that peace protesters on college campuses are "pro-Hamas" meaning "pro-terror" and we can forget all about the US-Israeli funds going to that "terror" cause within occupied Gaza.

Yep. Another brilliant extension of the "we are the government; we control the roads; we collectivize everything; we will use 'CLIMATE!!!!!!' as a rationale for making people shell over more money". Of course, people who don't use the roads as much might bring up the fact that they subsidize people who DO drive a lot, and this, also, is a manifestation of collectivism and the impossibility to charge people who are the only ones using a service. Subsidization always creeps in, and it's impossible to stop.
by Kristinn Taylor Massachusetts Senate Majority Leader Cynthia Stone Creem (D) introduced a bill this year to create a commission with the goal of reducing the number of miles driven by residents in their cars because of ‘climate change’, with an ultimate goal to “reduce the need for personal vehicles.”
