And now, as Mario and Luigi would say, “Let’s-a GO!”
ONE!
In a recent Town Hall Call-in held by Elon Musk (which gets one thinking about the Center for Countering Digital Hate [or should that be countering digital HONESTY?] going after him, as exposed by their internal docs) anyway, Elon Musk recently spelled out what may be a great summation of what many folks feel about the US Dept of Education and the waste of college. But, as he often does, Musk focuses on the outcomes, not pointing out the inherently unconstitutional Dept of Ed, nor pointing out the immorality of taxing someone else to provide for a child's so-called "education." It's this lack of root analysis that seems to be so evident in many of his pronouncements. For example, he mentions that government spending drives the central bank to print money which causes the inflation of the money supply and drives prices higher, but he doesn't talk about eliminating the central bank, just trying to "control government spending," which is something the feds have not done and is something that one can expect they never will do. Here's a bit of his valuable assessment of the poor practical outcomes of the federally-manipulated and overseen "education" system in the US. LINK!
TWO!
Here's a great example of the multi-level errors that act as normative in US political, educational, and jurisprudential systems. This former Louisiana "Teacher of the Year" is suing the state because in January, its new statute will demand that the school display the Ten Commandments. While some might try to work around that by creatively putting up a poster of Charlton Heston, parting the Red Sea on film, the teacher, Mr. Dier, says it will be "harmful" to children, and that it is a violation of the First Amendment. It isn't a violation of the First Amendment. Regardless of how many people misquote Thomas Jefferson's "wall separating church and state" sentiment, and regardless of the fact that I, personally, don't want to force anyone to pay into any education system, meaning that all government schools are off my ethical playing field, the First Amendment only specifies CONGRESS. The key, as always, when cases like this arise, is to look at the state constitution, and the state of LA DOES have a constitutional provision protecting the freedom of religion. The other factor here is that by eliminating religion in a tax-funded class, this man actually blocks the freedom of religious people who have been taxed to pay for the system. It's an unanswerable mess if one doesn't get out of the statist box, that terrible box of education that's really a coffin for morality, responsiveness to those actually paying, and to rights, themselves. Here's the story:

Soooo, the leftist Climate Cultist government of Berkely, CA, recently tried to prohibit new building constructors from installing nat-gas for heat. Since a court blocked that, the busybodies in Berk have connived on a new way to do it, by TAXING "large buildings" purportedly because those "large buildings" use carbon-based fuel, and, as the Cultists chant, that "makes everyone pay" because it's leading to their non-existent climate APOCALYPSE! Check this out! LINK!
If passed, the measure would go into effect Jan. 1, 2025, and expire by 2050. Major city plans to institute first-in-the-nation tax on large buildings — here's how it could impact you first appeared on The Cool Down.

Ahh, yes, as the SCOTUS awaits the expected lawfare after their "Bruen" gun decision, states like NY use tax money to fight in tax-funded lower courts to continue attacking the right to keep and bear arms. Shortly after "Bruen," the NY legislature passed a new set of gun restrictions that they ironically called the "Concealed Carry IMPROVEMENT Act". Seriously. Now the 2nd Circuit has found this to be perfectly fine. Obviously, this will force the plaintiffs to spend more cash on bringing it back to the SCOTUS. Meanwhile, the state will be able to start "enforcing" (backed by govt guns) the new "act". The bottom-feeding and slimy tactics of these rights-killers is breathtaking. LINK!
Appeals court upholds New York gun laws, including sensitive places ban
A federal appeals court has upheld significant portions of New York gun control laws, including restrictions on carrying firearms in areas the state has deemed “sensitive,” such as schools, hospitals, and public transportation. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit on Thursday reaffirmed provisions of the Concealed Carry Improvement Act, which New York passed […]

MORE. The state defines certain public places as "sensitive" — so nice of them to arbitrarily do that, even as they make taxpayers fund their operation. Again, government-run systems and rights cannot fit together. It's not possible to accommodate everyone who is forced to pay. The govt decides who is favored. LINK!

FIVE!
This is almost funny. First, Robert Kagan (the husband of Ukraine-overthrow pal Victoria Nuland, and not related to SCOTUS robe-wearer Elena Kagan) berates Bezos for having the WaPo editorial page appear neutral. In this acidic attack, Kagan implies that if Harris doesn't get into 1600 the US will become a fascist wasteland, journalism will be attacked, and — wait. Did he look at Harris and Biden and Obama and the fact that the WaPo "journalism" division already has done yeoman's work hiding valid information and throwing down cover for the expansion of the fascist, anti-speech, social-media-attacking federal government? Perhaps Bezos's attempt to look neutral is a tepid try, since we know that their "opinion" section is not confined to their editorials and they can keep pushing Kamala's brand of fascism and censorship (Kagan seems to have forgotten her call to silence X and other social media sites, from a couple weeks agon in her chat with Jake Tapper...). Why didn't Kagan flip out when the WaPo suppressed reports on the Hunter Biden laptop, or when it parroted the lies of "Russian Collusion"? SURELY, he's all for "journalistic integrity" and courage in reporting... (wink). Washington Post Editor-at-Large Robert Kagan Resigns Over Paper’s Decision Not to Endorse Kamala Harris

It's vexing and perplexing to consider the inescapable fact that most "small government conservatives" favor the central-command-and-control, unconstitutional DC control over immigration policy and policing. This is what they get. LINK!

Isn't it charming to see a woman who applauded and laughed about her involvement in the extra-judicial murder of Qaddafi, whose husband unconstitutionally bombed Serbia and Iraq and imposed a starvation campaign on Iraq, who openly calls for censorship, she, the oh-so-humble Hillary, is trying to preempt Trump's Madison Sq Garden rally by likening it to a rally in 1939, and she even brings up FDR, who, at the time was busy making sure Jews trying to escape Germany would NOT be able to enter the US (see the unconstitutional, central-command-and-control immigration insanity above). She never ceases to amaze with her ability to keep pushing hypocritical brickbats as she boosts tyranny. And this is written not to promote Trump or his already fascist jab-funding, red flag statute support and more. It's merely to call out HRC. LINK!

Good for the plaintiffs. The FTC "Click to Cancel" rule is: patently unconstitutional, obnoxiously arrogant — telling companies how to do business and claiming the heroism of "protecting" customers who can and should handle contracts themselves, not use the force of government to push around other parties in market agreements — and expensive. It will force thousands and thousands of companies to hire people who will rewrite their policies and websites, and it leaves the door open to the government "interpreting" whether their efforts were "sufficient." Isn't the FACT that NewsGuard has been subsidized by the feds sufficient to end it and allow those who have been hit by NewsGuard to sue it and the feds for breaches of the First Amendment? Olberman. Is he really this unhinged? Or is he just laughing as he says dumb things and ruins his already down-trending rep? He uses free speech to call for the arrest of someone who very slightly opened X to more speech and information. Reason is spot-on here. Trump wants to manipulate behavior through tariffs and the "tax break" he'd offer to buy products HE wants people to buy. The lack of economic understanding is stunning. LINK!
