Trump claimed that the US shot down all of the airborne attacks launched by Iran in response to his attacks (that killed people in a wedding party, lest we momentarily forget). That was not true. Nimah Alkhorshid and Matt Hoh explore this reality, and then, stick with it, of course, because they observe the absolutely stunning pass-of-the-buck by Speaker Johnson. The two cuts are items I had isolated myself today, but the wraparound by Nima and Matt is so valuable, I want to give them credit and show their observations.
Marco Rubio deflected when asked about the US depleting highly expensive interceptors each time Iran launches relatively inexpensive (and swiftly replaced) drones. Nima Alkhorshid and Anthony Aguilar discuss this, right at the outset of Nima’s conversation with Anthony today. From there, Anthony — as he often does — offers key insights into the geography/topography and tactical challenges on the ground. If you watch the first 12 minutes of this, you will be reminded of why gentlemen such as these are seen by so many as being such valuable information assets to peace advocates.
Anthony also delves into the reality facing many Gulf nations: that the presence of US bases in their land makes them targets when the US engages in aggression from those bases. He sounds another note of wisdom in predicting that Iraqis will expel the US.
For example, Iran responded to Trump’s most recent attacks by retaliating against US forces in Jordan (among other locations). But the US tried to hide that reality. This is leading to a lot of stress and shakeups in the DoD. Anthony offers more key information on the resignations and battles with Hegseth.

And Matt Hoh echoes sentiment we’ve mentioned on Liberty Conspiracy regarding the shift of the Euro hierarchy to try to prolong their power and fascist money-making shelf-life by making Ukraine their ready-always consumer of arms. Matt also notes that Trump is surrounded by people who seem to have this same mentality and Trump might start seeing Russia’s alliance and friendliness with Iran as a reason to begin helping Ukraine prolong the war and, of course, see more Ukrainians die. I want to stress that I think that the worse the US and EU economies become, the more likely it is that their fascist tendencies will lean on Military Keynesianism, attempting to fake productivity and GDP numbers by shoveling a bunch of central-bank created money into arms making. As long as nations have central banks, their war-states will be funded, regardless of the damage that inflated system does to the civilian living standard.
ARGENTINA
So, in February, Trump announced that he, in his great imperial glory, is allowing 100K metric tonnes of beef to come to the US duty-free. (The 300K MT we recently heard him mention, based on my research, appears to NOT be coming from Argentina, despite many claims and my initial belief and even what Trump implied on AF One last week when a reporter asked him about it). The new 300,000 metric ton quota of lean beef trimmings (the one opening in three 100,000 MT monthly tranches starting September 1, 2026) is reserved for “other countries or areas.” It does not apply to Argentina.Argentina already has its own separate country-specific allocation of 100,000 MT for 2026 (the original 20,000 MT WTO quota plus the extra 80,000 MT of lean trimmings granted in February). The August proclamation states that the new 300,000 MT volume does not change or add to Argentina’s existing quota. The same exclusion applies to Uruguay, Australia, and New Zealand.
Trump ALSO BAILED OUT ARGENTINA last year… Let’s remember key points: A $20 billion currency-swap facility announced in October 2025 through the Treasury’s unconstitutional, debt-adding, Exchange Stabilization Fund. Argentina drew on $2.5 billion of it. The country purportedly repaid that by late 2025 / early January 2026, and the U.S. reported a profit of tens of millions of dollars, without providing any evidence.
The U.S. Treasury also bought Argentine pesos directly in the market (reports mention hundreds of millions of dollars, including about $400 million in one period) and provided roughly $872 million in related IMF-reserve support.
Yet… What a shock
Meanwhile, the US applies tariffs on Canadian dairy and other natural products people could eat or drink.
GOLD AND SILVER AS MONEY IN TX
Texas recently saw a bill passed that will allow people to connect to a “depository” then draw what are seen as tradeable digits based on the gold deposits. “Texas Embraces Gold and Silver for Everyday Payments | Arabian Post” LINK It’s not exactly a gold-money free-market exchange system. Instead, it sees the state of TX position itself as overseer and “partner”. LINK
Texas Bullion Depository — Latest News and Developments
The Texas Bullion Depository (TxBD), the nation’s first state-administered precious metals vault, continues to expand its services and prepare for major legislative changes. As reported in July, last year, Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock visited TxBD in Leander to see operations firsthand and discuss new services. The depository is ready to hold precious metal IRA assets through a private-sector partnership” (i.e. fascism - freedom does not exist in “partnership” with the polis) with Lone Star Tangible Assets and Equity Trust Co., offering a “secure, state-administered option for retirement investors” LINK
This begins operations in May, 2027…
The concept of TxBD was part of House Bill 1056 (though the actual establishment of it was in another statute, HB 483, of 2015), signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in June of 2025, and the statute will allow Texans to use gold and silver bullion stored at TxBD for everyday purchases starting May 1, 2027. Transactions will be processed via a debit card or mobile app, with the Texas Comptroller setting the metal-to-dollar exchange rate at the time of each purchase Arabian Post+1. This makes Texas the first state to operationalize gold and silver for daily commerce on this scale.
Background and facilities
Under HB 483, TxBD is an official agency of the Texas Comptroller, operated by a politically selected private entity (Lone Star Tangible Assets and Equity Trust Co). It began accepting deposits in 2018 and completed a 40,000-square-foot facility in 2019 on a 10-acre campus in Leander, just north of Austin (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts+1)
TX political pushers of this fascist depository claim it will become a hub for both retirement metal storage and state-backed precious metal transactions, aligning with Texas’s broader push for financial sovereignty and alternative currency systems, including a state strategic bitcoin reserve Arabian Post. But let’s perceive some deeper points that belie the glowing rhetoric.
Sooo… Texas now invites residents to lodge gold and silver in the state Bullion Depository at Leander and spend it by debit card. House Bill 1056, enacted in June 2025, recognizes qualifying specie as legal tender beginning September 1, 2026, and authorizes an electronic currency backed by depository metal from May 1, 2027.
BUUUT…. The TX Comptroller will set the metal-to-dollar ratio at each transaction. That last clause is the danger. The same office that holds the bars also prices them. A modest official premium would inflate the paper value of metal already in state custody and of any reserves the state itself reports. Control of both warehouse and price list is how a government can mark up its books without buying an ounce. Confiscation need not look like 1933. It can arrive as an emergency valuation, a freeze, a conversion fee, or a rule that depositors may withdraw only dollars at the state’s rate. Optional acceptance today does not bind a future legislature. Metal in a private safe is yours. Metal in a state vault, priced by the state, is a political asset.

This is interesting… It shows any observer the kind of dystopian world one gets when the polis claims power over what it defines as “security” — be it “border” (defined by the state), or “health” (the individual can be sacrificed for the bulk of others, but each of those others also can be the victim, ad infinitum)
