Senator Padilla has proposed a bill (which likely will not get many GOP-ers to support it) to shorten the length of time an immigrant must be in the US in order to apply for “permanent legal resident” status. Right now, the resident must have been here since 1972 in order to be considered “legal,” but Padilla would reduce that to seven years. LINK!
In a related immigration matter, the Trump DOJ is suing NYC for the city government’s insistence that police not work with federal invaders to kidnap people. LINK!
In New Mexico, the Mayor of Albuquerque has signed an order prohibiting any official from the city assisting any federal agent in migrant kidnappings. Good for him!! LINK!
And, in CA, lawyers and watchdog groups are warning about private GEO corporation employees mistreating migrants in their “detention” centers. LINK! I happened to do some research on this corporation, and Pam Bondi worked for them as a lobbyist in 2019, and Tom Homan has worked for them as a consultant. We will discuss this tonight, on Liberty Conspiracy.
