Swets has been described as having access to Trump’s circle. He is also a business partner in another venture with billionaire Paolo Tiramani, a donor who contributed $10 million toward a White House ballroom project. The company retained Rubenstein Public Relations, whose principal has long-standing professional ties to the Trump family (including work with “pre-POTUS” Trump). Hassett and other Trump lackeys took time to deflect away from the unemployment stats,
… and, more than once, to blame Joe Biden for the terrible Trump economy and towering unemployment numbers. And, of course, he never bothered to address the fact that the Bureau of Labor Stats repeatedly lies about the employment numbers, then had to revise them down and revise unemployment numbers UP.
Cong Rudy Yakym (R-IN) blamed Biden for economic woes 18 months into Trump’s second term. Yakym states President Trump “was certainly left with a mess to clean up,” while the segment displays current stats including 3.5% inflation, $4.04/gallon gas, and 1.5% GDP growth.
The interview also features RNC Chair Joe Gruters asserting Trump is fixing “Biden’s economy,” highlighting ongoing Republican messaging strategy on economic accountability.
While I disagree with Steve Rattner’s claim that the Biden employment atmosphere was “strong” (unless one calls it “strong” because the atmosphere stank like manure), the economy has gotten much worse due to Trump’s tariffs, added spending, and expansion of military attacks.
